Export Video

Select File  Export Video to re-encode the edited video recording to a single .mp4 file that you can share or open in another application. The Export Video dialog box appears.

The command is only available when the open recording actually contains video.

This exports the source video of your recording. To capture the analyzer views instead — spectrogram, spectrum, note sliders and so on — use File  Export View as Video, described in Export View as Video.

The dialog is modeless: you can leave it open, keep working on the recording, and export again. It remembers its settings for the next export.

Output Video File

Output Folder

The path to the location where the video file will be written appears in this field. Click the three dots to the right of the field to browse to a different location. Check use location of current recording to write the file into the same folder as the recording. Check open folder on export to reveal the finished file in the file manager once the export is done.

File Name

The name for the exported video file appears in this field. You can edit the name directly, or click the three dots to the right of the field to enter the name and path in a file selector. Check use name of current recording to derive the name from the recording.

Video Settings

  • Resolution — same as source keeps the size of the original video, or select 720p, 1080p, 4K, or Custom. For Custom, enter the width and height; the button next to the fields swaps them, for vertical video.

  • Quality — the encoder quality (low, medium, high, very high). Higher quality means a larger file.

Frame Rate

Select same as source to keep the frame rate of the original video (the rate is shown next to the option), or select custom framerate and choose a rate from the list.

Audio

Check Include audio track to write the audio into the video file as well, then select the format (AAC, lossy, with a selectable bitrate; or ALAC, lossless) .

Content

  • Edited file (as saved) — exports the edited recording at its original speed, without playback filters.

  • What you hear (as played) — exports the audio as it sounds during playback, including the current playback speed and any playback filters. The video is re-timed to match.

Export Now

After you have made all of your selections, press Export Now to write the file. Check keep dialog open if you want the dialog to stay open after the export.
