Setting up the EGG

When the package arrives, charge the EGG overnight first. While it charges, read through this document, which contains all the procedures for configuring your EGG. Additional setup documents are in this folder.

Positioning the electrodes

The electroglottograph sends a tiny high-frequency current between two electrodes. As the glottis opens and closes, the resistance changes (lower when the vocal folds are in contact). This variation is the EGG signal, from which the program derives the closed quotient. Proper electrode placement is essential for a good signal, and the exact position differs from person to person due to physiology.
